Rock on with immersive guitar classes at the Young Musicians’ Academy, and gain the skills and confidence you need to play solo or in a band.
What You Will Learn
Guitar-like instruments actually go back to ancient times. Today’s guitars can be acoustic or electric, but the basic principles behind playing them are very similar. At the Young Musicians’ Academy, you’ll learn the “language” of music (music theory) and other modules will depend on which styles or genres of music you want to play, from Rock to Jazz to Country to Metal and even the Blues!
How Our Guitar Lessons are Different
Playing the guitar is fun, no doubt about it, but we think learning how to play the guitar should be just as fun! As you learn scales, notes, the right finger positions…we want you to enjoy it. Our experienced teachers are passionate about music, and just can’t wait to share that with you.
Who Is It Ideal For?
Anyone at any age can learn to play the guitar, from young children picking up their first instrument to adults who want to try something different. Here are the lessons series available at the Young Musicians’ Academy:

What’s better than knowing how to play the guitar? Singing while playing the guitar. If you’re interested in furthering your music education and career, we also offer vocal lessons.
What Are the Benefits for You?
There’s more to learning how to play the guitar than just musical ability. What do we mean by that? Well, you’ll not only know how to rock out, but you’ll also:
- Have better memory skills
- Improve your coordination
- Sharpen your math and reading skills
- Learn how to accomplish things with hard work and perseverance
- Entertain family and friends with your musical talents
Where Are the Lessons Run?
You have many options when it comes to taking guitar lessons at the Young Musicians’ Academy, including right at our studio in Ashgrove, Brisbane, or at several primary schools in the area, which you can find here.
If you want to save time driving around, at-home lessons are also available. Have a strong Internet connection? Why not try guitar lessons over Skype or Facebook?
How Many Students Can Attend?
If you want to make quick progress on learning how to play the guitar, 1-on-1 lessons are the best choice as your music teacher works with you and you alone. That said, learning in pairs can sometimes be more fun, so if you have a friend at the same level as you, we may be able to arrange paired lessons for you.
Keen on group lessons? We offer music theory and percussions lessons as a group.
How Much Does It Cost?
The more you practise a new instrument, the faster you can master it. However, it’s not always possible to make that much of a commitment, so we’ve designed our lessons specifically to give you the most value possible. For more information, view our lessons pricing page.
