Not to toot our own horn, but when you take trumpet lessons at the Young Musicians’ Academy, you’ll become proficient in no time!
What You Will Learn
The trumpet is part of the brass instruments and has the highest register in that family—which is why trumpets were used as signalling devices as early as 1500 BCE and possibly even earlier. When you take trumpet lessons at the Young Musicians’ Academy, you’ll learn proper fingering techniques, how to breathe into the trumpet and the right embouchure (the shape of your lips and cheeks while playing) so you don’t hurt or tire yourself out.
How Our Trumpet Lessons are Different
At the Young Musicians’ Academy, we have a simple rule: Have fun. It’s obvious that you love music and the trumpet (it’s why you’re here!) but you should also love learning how to play it and getting that great feeling of accomplishment when you put dedication and hard work into learning an instrument.
Who Is It Ideal For?
Age really is just a number, and it’s never too late or too early to learn how to play the trumpet.
The following trumpet lessons are available:
- A Tune A Day for Trumpet or Cornet for beginner students aged 8-12
- A Tune A Day for Trumpet or Cornet & Supplementary Material—for teenage and adult beginners
Love Karaoke or thinking about taking singing lessons too? We highly encourage it, as vocal classes can help you become a better trumpet player by sharpening your breathing skills and improving your knowledge of notes, tone and measures.

When you take trumpet lessons at the Young Musicians’ Academy, you’re not limited to just musical benefits such as learning how to read notes or playing a tune in the right key. You’ll also gain some great life skills:
